Handycam offers automatic geotagging with GPS and a Map Index View, a stills
mode for capturing 4-megapixel digital photos, Intelligent Face Detection and
Sony’s Smile Shutter technology. Videos and photos are played back on a 2.7”
touch-sensitive LCD. It also features a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, 10 x
optical zoom and 120 x digital zoom.

For video shooting, users simply need to press the Rec Start/Stop button while for still pictures they can use the adjacent Photo button. The pictures captured are 4 megapixel still photos.
